The Favourite Child

Lets face it, everyone has a favourite. For my parents, its my younger sister. The little perfect 16 year old she is, with her own golden retriever puppy, many friends, biggest room, dad wrapped around her finger, guys on speed dial and pretty as anything she wants. As her sister I love her, more like a love/hate relationship but mainly love... But I guess its just hard when you are ignored and meanwhile she is given whatever she wants, gets away with anything and all she has to do is befriend the parents and I am out of the picture.

We used to be like best friends. But she has a new best friend now. Unless she's out with her puppy, she's out with her much cooler friends, having sleepovers, going out to parties and getting all dressed up to go out for a mature dinner with a group of mates. It's like she's got the world at her feet and that means, me too. Lately she's gotten mum to pay for all her dog food and won't pay for my bunnies which is by the way $115 cheaper than what she pays for the dog... and she's pretty much home all the time because I mean, why would you go to school when you can stay home...

I am pretty much invisible to my mum since I've gotten a life outside of school... so we have to book a time to "chat," which are the chats I dread, because its just her telling me what she isn't happy with, what she isn't proud of and what I need to improve on in our 'relationship.' Meanwhile, her and her 'perfect little daughter' have coffee chats in the lounge room whenever she wants them, both go for walks and share the best parts of their lives with each other. So is that it then, When you get your license you become invisible on the radar. And it's all my fault for being busy all day when everyone else is to, that somehow has a reflection on my terrible ability for relationship.. it's totally unfair and I don't know how much more I can take before I change addresses... again.
